Association of Public Pension Fund Auditors (APPFA)
The Association of Public Pension Fund Auditors (APPFA) was established in 1991 by four internal auditors from public pension funds in Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Wisconsin.
Since then, APPFA has grown to over 100 member organizations, including the largest public employee retirement systems in 40 states and Canada. Its members are comprised predominately of public employee retirement systems, including state, municipal, and teacher plans. The membership meets twice annually in May and November. APPFA is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the state of New York.
National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA)
The National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) is a professional association of state and local defined contribution plan administrators and their industry service providers. NAGDCA was founded in 1980 and has grown to be the premier organization representing governmental defined contribution plans.
NAGDCA supports its member agencies and providers by:
• Providing education and information,
• Creating unique opportunities to share resources and best practices through its Annual Conference, webinars, and online network,
• Conducting legislative/regulatory advocacy in Washington D.C.
National Association of Pension Plan Attorneys (NAPPA)
The National Association of Public Pension Attorneys, NAPPA, is a professional legal and educational organization. Created in 1987, its membership consists exclusively of attorneys who represent public pension funds. Its purpose is to provide educational opportunities and informational resources for its member attorneys.
National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA)
NASRA is a non-profit association whose members are the directors of the nation's state, territorial, and largest statewide public retirement systems.
National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS)
The National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS) is the largest trade association for public sector pension funds, representing more than 500 funds throughout the United States and Canada.
National Council on Teacher Retirement
The National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR) is constituted as an independent association dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of public retirement systems in the United States and its territories to which teachers belong and to promoting the rights and benefits of all present and future members of the systems.
National Pension Education Association
Originally founded as the National Preretirement Education Association in 1980, NPEA was renamed the National Pension Education Association to reflect the broader goals of the organization to focus on comprehensive retirement education for members of public retirement systems.
Public Retirement Information Systems Management
The purpose of the PRISM organization is to provide opportunities for IT management of public retirement funds to collaborate and share their experiences with new technologies affecting the retirement and IT industries.
