Requirements What we need
The SBA is currently seeking an Operations Support Specialist to provide financial, purchasing, and administrative support to the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF). This position is also responsible for contract management, supporting the administration of the Insurance Capital Buildup Incentive Program and providing support to the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (Commission) and the Professional Team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Supporting the administration of the FHCF’s vendor management needs, including contract management, and testing of internal controls
• Coordinating activities of the FHCF Advisory Council meetings and administers Rulemaking processes
• Performing administrative tasks such as processing and tracking public record requests and supporting records retention
• Assisting with the administration of the Insurance Capital Buildup Incentive Program (ICBIP)
• Monitoring and updating the FHCF and Commission websites
• Providing support to the Manager of Modeling Program with Commission meetings, and the annual FHCF participating insurers workshop
• Serving as backup for the processing of FHCF invoices and commodity purchases for the FHCF budget and processes payment and handling of invoices submitted for payment
• Performing other duties as assigned

What you should have
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business, mathematics, public administration, or a related field and two years of related experience. Or any combination of education and/or experience equal to the minimum requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of rulemaking guidelines for the State of Florida
• Strong proofreading skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Skill in compiling, organizing, and analyzing financial data
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
