Requirements What we need
The SBA is currently seeking a Financial Operations Control Analyst in our Financial Operations department. The successful candidate will provide payroll and invoice resolution assistance to vendors and internal colleagues. This role acts as a liaison between SBA business units and vendors to identify areas in need of improvement and is empowered to take action to implement process improvements when appropriate to increase accuracy and efficiencies.

Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Performing duties for the day-to-day accounts payable function
• Assisting and developing process improvements for the 1099 process
• Assisting the Financial Operations Control Manager in monthly and supplemental payroll process
• Performing the daily release of wires for Financial Operations
• Serving as procurement card administrator of the SBA Procurement Card Program
• Administering the record retention process for PeopleSoft documents

What you should have
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, business, economics, mathematics, public administration, statistics or a related field and two years of related experience. Or any combination of education and/or experience equal to the minimum requirements.

Preferences:
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
• Experience with bank wire systems, batch file processing and Internal Revenue Service reporting
• Experience with processing credit transactions and reviewing expense reports
• Experience with payroll processing
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of accounts payable industry standards and best practices
• Knowledge of Internal Revenue Service Information Reporting requirements
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement
• Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
• Ability to perform at a high level in a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Strong computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word
