Lawrence Mundy will be providing us with an update on several projects the GASB is working on, along with his observations about how they may affect public pension plans.  He will also be discussing other accounting and financial reporting issues of interest to the P2F2 membership.

The webinar is free for members, and you will receive 1 CPE credit for attending. After attending the webinar, you will be able to:

· List current projects that GASB is working on.

· Identify pre-agenda research projects that GASB may be taking on within the next year.

· Describe accounting rules that may be changing for public pension plans.

Speaker Bio

Lawrence Mundy is the Manager of Financial Services at the Colorado School Districts Self Insurance Pool, where he prepares the Pool's financial statements and budget, performs ad-hoc analysis for premium rate setting, handles property reinsurance reporting, and monitors the Pool's solvency.  Lawrence also develops automated reporting solutions for the Pool's Claims and Underwriting Departments and is the main point-of-contact for the Pool's external insurance actuaries.  Previously, Lawrence worked at Colorado PERA where his primary focus was working on a wide array of accounting and financial reporting activities.  Lawrence also worked at a custodian bank and has worked with a number of U.S. and International Government-Sponsored Funds and Corporate-Sponsored Funds.

While Lawrence was with Colorado PERA he served on the P2F2 Board and was Chair of P2F2's Accounting and Technical Issues Review Committee.  He currently serves P2F2 by monitoring the standard-setting activities of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board and other pension-focused organizations and provides a monthly report for the Board and a quarterly summary for the P2F2 newsletter.  He continues to help draft comment letters on technical reporting issues to various staqndard setting organizations for review and consideration by the P2F2 Board.

Lawrence received a B.S. degree in Commerce from DePaul University and an M.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Lawrence is a licensed CPE in Colorado.

P2F2 is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  For more information please visit www.nasba.org.  The webinar will be presented online in a live-group format.  This webinar is intended as a basic session.  There are no prerequisites and no advance preparation is required.  In keeping with NASBA requirements, P2F2 tracks attendance for CPE credit.  Attendees may earn 1 CPE credit in tax as long as they are logged in fot at least 50 minutes and respond to intermittent polling questions throughout the webinar.
