Audra Ferguson-Allen and Rob Gauss from Ice Miller will be leading another P2F2 quarterly call on Tuesday, March 21st at 3pm eastern time. They will discuss the Secure 2.0 Act, which was passed as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act in 2023 and the provisions that affect public pension plans.

The webinar is free for members, and you will receive 1 CPE credit for attending. After attending the webinar, you will be able to:

· Understand the changes to the Required Minimum Distributions and catchup provisions.

· Understand how the Act impacts automatic enrollment, portability transactions and early withdrawal penalties.

· Understand the changes to the exclusions of income of disability payments made to first responders and public safety officer health insurance.

Speaker Bios

Audra Ferguson-Allen is a partner in Ice Miller’s Employee Benefits Group where she concentrates her practice on employee benefits law as it relates to government employers, ranging from state governments, municipalities, tribal governments, and other public entities. She assists clients with various retirement and welfare benefit plan issues. Specifically, her practice includes assisting clients with qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, governmental 457(b) deferred compensation plans, 403(b) plans and qualified tuition programs, and qualified Achieving Better Life Experience ("ABLE") programs.  Audra’s practice includes work on a variety of issues for governmental retirement plans, including plan design, plan administration, Internal Revenue Service compliance, and benefit taxation.

Originally from Rockville, Ind., Audra earned her Bachelor of Arts in marketing and finance, magna cum laude, from Franklin College. Audra received her juris doctor from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law: Indiana University, summa cum laude, where she graduated first in her class.

Rob Gauss concentrates his practice in helping local and state governmental employers and retirement systems with employee benefit questions and concerns on matters of retirement, health and welfare benefits. This includes working with governmental pension plans across the country on federal tax, compliance, correction and fiduciary issues. In particular, Rob works with clients in the design, administration and federal tax law compliance of their qualified defined benefit and defined contribution/deferred compensation plans. Rob's work with defined contribution/deferred compensation plans includes 401(a), 401(k), 403(b) and 457(b) type plans and includes all areas of compliance for the plans under the Internal Revenue Code.

An Indianapolis native, Rob received his Bachelor of Arts from DePauw University in 1990. He earned his juris doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1993, where he was a recipient of the Cale J. Holder Memorial Scholarship in 1992 and a member of the Order of the Barristers in 1993.

P2F2 is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  For more information please visit www.nasba.org.  The webinar will be presented online in a live-group format.  This webinar is intended as a basic session.  There are no prerequisites and no advance preparation is required.  In keeping with NASBA requirements, P2F2 tracks attendance for CPE credit.  Attendees may earn 1 CPE credit in tax as long as they are logged in fot at least 50 minutes and respond to intermittent polling questions throughout the webinar.
