2026 Pension 101 Training Event

P2F2 offers an in-person 16-hour Pension 101 Training course designed for public pension plan financial professionals who are fairly new to the field of public pension accounting and financial reporting.  This course will be be offered once in 2026 on Wednesday, June 17th through Thursday, June 18th in Denver, Colorado.  The cost is just $350, which includes 16 hours of education, course materials, and lunch both days.  

Location
The training event takes place at the Fire & Police Pension Association of Colorado (FPPA) building, located at 7979 E. Tufts Avenue, Suite 900 in Denver.

Hotel
P2F2 has reserved a block of rooms at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center hotel, located at 7870 E. Tufts Avenue (about 3 blocks from FPPA) for just $189 per night (plus tax/fees).  A buffet breakfast is included at no additional cost in the hotel's Root 25 Restaurant.  Attendees are asked to make their own reservations with the Hyatt.  You can click here to make a reservation.  Shuttle service will not be available between the hotel and FPPA, which is a 7-8 minute walk.

Meals
Your registration fee includes lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Snacks, coffee and refreshments will be provided throughout the day on both days.  Dinners are not included in the registration fee.  As noted earlier, a complimentary buffet breakfast will be provided by the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center hotel's restaurant.

Thursday, June 18:
8:00 - 11:50    Financial Reporting Fundamentals (with 2 breaks)
11:50 - 12:45  Lunch
12:45 - 2:25    Investment Fundamentals
2:40 - 4:20      Investment Accounting Fundamentals

CPE Credits
A total of 16 CPE credits may be earned by attending the training both days.  8 CPE credits may be earned on Wednesday and 8 on Thursday.  CPE certificates will be posted to attendee's accounts in the P2F2 membership system by the end of June.

Dress
The dress code is business casual.  

Registration
Registration is open for P2F2 members and nonmembers until midnight on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.  Nonmembers must be enrolled in our membership system.  To do that, at the main menu click on "Membership" and then on "Member Enrollment" (if you want to become a P2F2 member for $400) or on "Nonmember Enrollment" (if you do not want to become a member), then follow the prompts.  Once you are enrolled in our membership system, you can log in to the website and then click on "Events and Registrations" on the sidebar menu and follow the prompts.  If you don't see the sidebar menu, click on "Account" at the top of the page.

The Public Pension Financial Forum is organized for education, pension advocacy and networking purposes.
